Acubalance's Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) HAS CHANGED MY LIFE!! Really it has!
In June 2017, I was barely able to stand-up off my couch without significant pain. I wouldn't stand up with my kids in the room for fear of them knocking into me by accident and it would take me about 30 minutes to convince myself that standing up to use the bathroom was a good idea. I would only come down the stairs in the morning and go back up at bedtime and that was a long slow process. This summer when I was driving to Kelowna and through province I was only able to use my thumb and my ring finger around the steering wheel on my left hand. On my right hand, I had lost the function of my middle finger (same as before), but the other ones were losing function as well.
Then I started using to receive LED & laser therapy (LLLT) at Acubalance a few times a week. At first, we only focused on my knees as they were the most painful of my painful joints, and little by little they started to get better. I am now able to go up and down the stairs, I even went for a bike ride with my kids!
This is a follow up to my story I shared a few months ago. I am still improving!!!
Back to the story: At the end of August, I had seen so much improvement I purchased the personal system. With Rheumatoid Arthritis it is an ongoing chronic condition that I will need to continue to use the laser over my life, unlike a knee injury which can heal from 6-15 laser treatments. So I have my own system. Since then I have been using the LED red and infrared lights on my knees, hands, wrists, and feet (when needed). Oh and shoulders (tendonitis in them). I now stand up with no problem. I have very little pain in my knees. My left hand has regained 98% of normal function. The grinding in my pinky finger is gone and the locking of my middle finger is gone as well. On my right hand, I am slowly regaining function in my pointer finger and my ring finger. There is the odd day that I have a little more movement with my middle finger, but my pinky finger has "swan necked," from arthritis. I am hoping that it will be functional again, but I don't know. I may have to go back to Acubalance for the stronger laser and LEDs for a series of treatments to straighten it out.
So how do I feel about the low level laser therapy (aka LLLT or photobiomodulation)? It has saved me. My youngest says, "it is terrible, she can catch me now!"
I saw the Rheumatologist in November and she had a hard time believing the progress she has seen in me. She said people with my blood work aren't doing as well as I am. She was shocked by my range of motion and lack of swelling.
I love my laser! I tell everyone about it and what it has done for me.
