Bio: Chris Axelrad, M.S.O.M., L.Ac., M.M.Q.,FABORM is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, and Master of Medical Qigong who specializes in Fertility Enhancement, Gynecology and Obstetrics using the time-tested medical system of Traditional Chinese Medicine, coupled with modern medical knowledge. He is a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, a professional member of RESOLVE - The National Infertility Association, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American Association of Oriental Medicine, and is the current Director of the Houston branch of the International Institute of Medical Qigong which is the overseas branch of the Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Henan, China.
Mr. Axelrad hails from a medical family. His father is former Chief of Staff of Urology at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, and the former director of the Mind Body Institute at the same hospital. Two of his great uncles were physicians, one uncle was a well-respected Cardiologist, another is a currently practicing Psychiatrist in the Houston area. He brings to his practice a deep understanding of the natural, holistic principles of Chinese Medicine, and an equally deep respect for the modern system of medicine practiced by his forebears. It is this balance that makes him uniquely qualified as a practitioner of the highest quality.
Chris is known for his easy-going manner and sincere compassion for his patients. He earned his graduate degree and performed his internship in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the nationally acclaimed American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is a nationally certified as a diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the NCCAOM, and is certified as a Master of Medical Qigong by The International Institute of Medical Qigong in Pacific Grove, CA. Additionally, he is certified by the same institute in Medical Qigong Clinical Oncology.
