Three Free Therapies
I have been asked recently about frequency of acupuncture treatments as well using herbs to enhance one's fertility. All these are very useful modalities to optimize your reproductive health. I thought I would share online what I share wilth all my patients in our consults... the 3 free therapies to enhance your health and fertility.
- Diet
- Lifestyle
- Deep Relaxation
Diet
Eating conciously. Sitting quietly or laughing and eating with friends. Not eating while driving. Not eating watching TV or the newspaper. Not eating at your work desk. Not eating as you walk down the street to your next meeting
Eating Quality food. Usually organic. Fresh is better than frozen and frozenis bettter than canned.
Appropriate quantity. Over eating is usually a result of not eating consciously or not taking time for seep relaxation (Therefore emotional eating). Under eating can be has harmful as over eating. Both can affect ovulation. Most of us over eat. But there are a few who are very active and eat so they can be on the next bathing suit magazine. FYI... Those bodies do not always make fertile bodies.
Lifestyle
This section is all about balance. Meaning if something is good for you it does not mean even more of good thing is better. often it is not. Also, we in the west tend to be extremist. We wither do none of it or too much of it.
- Moderate exercise (above paragraph really pertains to this)
- Adequate rest (do you take time to just breath and listen to your thoughts?)
- Sufficient sleep
Sleep. Going to bed as close to 10PM is idea. I have heard that for every hour of sleep you get before midnight is 2 times more beneficial that for every hour after midnight. This is the Yin time according to Chinese Medicine. meaning this is when we recharge and rebuild. Your eggs and semen are yin substances. If you are not sleeping then possible you are not optimizing your fertility.
Relaxation
Stress affects your fertilyt according to Chinese medicine. This is not up for discussion when it comes tothe medicine I practice. Although it is still debatable in western medicine the growing amount evidence is suggesting what Chinese medicine has said for thousands of years. Chronic stress negatively impacts our health and fertility.
You cannot change easily your external environment (war, weather, politics, economy) but you have full control over your internal environment (how you react to the external environment)
Here are tips to help your body*mind*Soul cope with stress of daily life.
Deep breathing, naps, Yoga, Qi Gong, tai Chi, massage, Acupuncture, bubble bath with music and candles, daydreaming, sitting in nature and just listening and breathing it in.
If you are able to incorporate the three free therapies into your life and make them your daily healthy habits, then you I am confident your sleep would be sound, your digestion and elimination would be regular and your energy and mood would healthy.
Good luck.
