Stories of Hope for those Struggling with Infertility
I wish all of the couples I have seen would write about their fertility journey and share their story with others. More often than not, I hear from both the women and men I see that they found inspiration and hope in the stories we have posted on our website. In today’s post I wanted to share just a few of those stories I have been told have provided others with hope. And I look forward to more of your stories of hope and triumph being posted on our website too.
Pregnant at 45 with high FSH and short luteal phase
When I was 44 I decided to give conception one last try. I had no children. I had tried before and survived pregnancy losses. Because of my age and history, medical science gave me little hope of success. But for me the word “No” is more of a challenge to action than a point of defeat. And even with my high day 3 FSH (I can’t remember numbers right now, but it was definitely in the 20’s, possibly in the 30’s, and rising) and my really irregular menstrual cycle ..... read more

It was such a relief to be treated as a whole person
The acupuncture and herbal treatments I received for almost a year I
believe cleared a lot of negative energy that I had accumulated on the
journey to create a family. Prior to the treatments I had always
experienced painful menstrual cramps and irregular cycle length with "in
between" spotting. Now my periods are pain free, regular and feel
balanced. So I got the benefit of having both the emotional and physical
treated.

Our Story For the (literally) Wonderful Folks at Acubalance
Then the week before we were going to start the in-vitro process and
while still attending Acubalance, we got the crushing news from the
fertility clinic. Jane’s crucial FSH had jumped to 17.8. Even before we
heard the rest of the devastating message, we knew from our research
that many North American fertility clinics would not even take a patient
with an FSH over 15, as the odds of success were so low. The message
from the clinic went on to say that our prognosis for successful
in-vitro was “exceptionally poor,” although we were welcome to try “if
only to provide a sense of closure.” Read more
After getting pregnant with our first child in only 4 months, we assumed, like most parents, that the second one would be just as easy. We were wrong. After over one year of trying for a second child, we decided to take the round of infertility tests to see if we had a specific problem. The test results indicated no apparent fertility issues with either me or my husband. So, we were labeled as having “unexplained infertility”. Read More

I have a history of miscarriages, having had one miscarriage attempting to conceive my first child, then another three miscarriages attempting to conceive our second child. After the last miscarriage, we found ourselves unable to conceive for over a year. Read more
My hope is that by sharing some of the stories above it will bring you both hope and courage to continue to be proactiveon your journey to create your family. Maybe you will seek out a qualified acupunctirst in your area too. Remember, the goal of Chinese medicine is not to get you pregnant. It is to help you get to the birth and end up with both a happy mother and baby.
