Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease, affecting upwards of 2% of the worlds population. It is characterized by an excessive growth of skin cells, every 3-4 days instead of 30 days, which leads to many raised plaques and profuse scaling. Common variants of psoriasis include Guttate psoriasis, plaque psoriasis, and pustular psoriasis. Along with local skin discomfort like itching, dryness and cracking, psoriasis is considered an autoimmune disease and is linked with a host of other internal problems like; arthritis, depression, cardiovascular disease, and even type 2 diabetes. Chinese herbal medicine has been shown, both in the clinic and through modern research, to offer significant support in the treatment of psoriasis, with as much as 65% of sufferers clearing completely.
