Infertility Study Confirms Laser Acupuncture Improves IVF Pregnancy Rates

  • Clinic Blog of Lorne

Acubalance Wellness Centre now offers laser acupuncture on the day of IVF/ICSI/FET transfer. This is the same laser used for transfer day treatments cited in  the study cited below.   I had the privilege to discuss the protocol used in the laser study with some of the acupuncturists and medical doctors involved in the study so we are now able to replicate exactly the same treatment with the same laser for Acubalance patients.

Feel free to listen to the podcast where I interviewed Dr Leondires from Reproductive MedicineAssociates of Connecticut about their laser acupuncture study.

Currently, Acubalance is the only acupuncture center in British Columbia offering laser acupuncture for IVF transfers with the luminex laser from the study.  To make an appointment or to learn more, call (604) 678-8600, or contact us via our Clinic Contact Form

Acupuncturists wanting details  and a discount on the laser used in the study, please click image of Luminex laser above for details.

Laser Acupuncture is Innovative

Submitted by denisequaid on Sun, 2010-03-21 22:53.

I have read research papers about acupuncture and the stinging sensation the machine it gives the patient is worth it. Pain is temporary. Glory is forever - just take it easy patients.

It is painless

This laser is not like the laser one uses for hair removal.  It is pain less.  You feel nothing.

Quite the contrary... Laser is Very Relaxing !!

Laser is also known as Low Level Light Therapy LLLT and also referred to as cold or soft laser.

There is literally no stinging sensation but more a very relaxing feeling. Laser has been shown over and over again to be effective in assisting the healing process and cuts down healing time by about 30%.

After 35 years of use and more than 4000 research studies utilizing Laser or Low Level Light Therapy there have been NO adverse side effects. Not one case. In fact, it is safe to use on children and elderly patients.

I have been using laser acupuncture for more than 20 years and have treated everything from acute injuries of ligament tears, fractures, post operative surgical wound healing to chronic pain from old injuries or arthritis. I began using the laser initially on international performance horses in the late 1980's. The first thing I noticed was after about 10 seconds the horses relaxed by taking a nice deep breath, their head dropped down to a relaxed position and their eyes would half close as if they were napping. Horses are very sensitive honest creatures and have no preconceived thought or judgement of what's being done. Their body simply responds to what ever treatment being used. They either get better or they don't, there is no such thing as a placebo effect in animals. I have literally used it on hundreds of horses over the years and always gotten positive results.

From the positive results on horses I decided to try it on myself when I had an injury to my knee. Much to my surprise the pain and swelling reduced after the first treatment. From that point on I used the laser on people as well because it works so well and is non-invasive.

I encourage anyone going through IVF to have laser acupuncture on transfer day and don't be concerned that it might sting or hurt. It will actually help you to relax.
