Thin Lining Despite Estrogen Support
We've been TTC for over 2 years and through all of our cycles with our RE we've had thin lining problems. Typically 4.5 - 6 even with etrogen support. In our las IVF cycle my E2 was 4,000 but my lining was still around 5 mm. We've tried patches, oral, vaginal and all produce similar results -- a lining topping off at 6 mm. I've also been doing acupuncture support for the past 6 months.
I am at a total loss. Any help or suggestions of protocols or tests you could provide would be greatly appreciated. With the data as it is saying that 8+mm is best, we are starting to give up hope given our history.

Hi Natalie,
Usually acupuncture can help with increase blood flow to the lining. I have personally seen cases not respond well to acupuncture twice per week so increased the frequency to 4 times per week with electric stimulation (EA) for two weeks and it made a difference.
I also think a true differential Chinese medicine diagnosis would help your practitioner choose the appropriate herbal formula. If your lining does not respond to acupuncture then another approach would be to use Chinese herbs. I suspect many lining issues and poor implantation is a result of what we call "Blood Stasis" and/or "Cold Uterus" which can respond well to herbal medicine and moxabustion. It requires time to be effective and since most IVF clinics do not want you on herbs during your IVF drugs you would need to allow about 3 months of herbal treatment before starting your next fresh or frozen cycle. I do not think one month would allow enough time.
