Chemical Pregnancy and Thyroid
Hello there,
My husband and I have been TTC for seven years. On July 2nd (my CD 14 - assumed O day, altho. we weren't really trying that month) we had our first appointment with a TCM doctor and started herbs and weekly acupuncture. By the end of that cycle, I was pregnant.
The pregnancy lasted 5 weeks and 5 days. My first beta was 111 and the second one was 242 before it began dropping.
At 5 weeks, 3 days, I had fasting blood drawn and my TSH was 5.44. Before that, my TSH had been tested in May and was 1.6. My Free T4 was 10 (no change from the May B/W). Because this was a surprise pregnancy and my doctor was on holiday and I haven't gotten pregnant in the 7 years we've been trying, I didn't change my thyroid meds when I found out I was pregnant (on CD 33). I'm wondering if it is standard protocol to do that? I'm also wondering if my Free T4 should be higher.
My platelet count on the day of the B/W was also low - 147, with a normal range of 150-400 - and I'm wondering if that could indicate a problem which might have contributed to the pregnancy loss.
Thank you.

I do not know much about what you are asking but I do know a friend of mine after trying for 7 years also fell pregnant and was taken off her thyroid meds for the duration of the pregnancy. *sticky baby dust* You will have your baby in your arms soon, they just aren't quite ready for you xx
