In this lecture Dr. Toth will explain the role of pathogens, primarily bacterial infections, in infertility as well as their effect on the overall health of both the men and women who harbor them. Dr. Toth will start by giving a brief overview of how infections cause infertility and some of the conditions that he attributes to infection. He will then summarize some of his research papers, clinical observations, and his rationale for considering pathogens to be the main cause of infertility. Dr. Toth will then go on to explain the rationale behind and effectiveness of some of his treatment modalities including intravenous antibiotic therapy, direct injection of antibiotics into targeted areas, and the use of antibiotic cocktails for washing the uterine cavity. Dr. Toth will end his presentation by discussing the overuse and ineffectiveness of fertility drugs and some of the potential downsides and costs of ART procedures
