Emilie Salomons Dr.TCM FABORM

Dr. Emilie Salomons' passion lies in gynecology, fertility and obstetrics. Aside from being a Doula, she has trained under some of the top Chinese Medicine Gynecologist and Fertility specialists in the world. Emilie believes that one of the most important qualities of a health care practitioner lies in the art of listening to her patient’s concerns and that many health issues do not get resolved simply due to a lack of awareness of the underlying cause. Emilie is delighted to be part of the Acubalance team. She is dedicated to helping men and women optimize their fertility to help them achieve their dreams of having healthy babies.

Emilie is a registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DR. TCM) with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture of BC. She is also a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine. (ABORM)

After graduating from her 5-year Dr.TCM program, Emilie spent eight months in Beijing, China, doing postgraduate studies at the Dongzhimen University Hospital. In keeping with her commitment to working at the community level, Emilie has worked and volunteered running stress management and addiction cessation groups, as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist in New York (Bronx), Vancouver and Richmond, as well as contributed to a maternal substance abuse study with the University of British Columbia.

Over the past five years, Emilie has volunteered several times in Uganda and Nepal teaching Nurses, Midwives and Traditional African Medicine Practitioners, basic obstetric acupuncture as well as acupuncture treatments for the debilitating symptoms associated with HIV/AIDS, malaria and TB. Currently, she volunteers at St. Paul’s hospital treating patients in the palliative care unit.
