Eczema
Eczema is a generic term used to describe inflammation of the epidermis, or upper layers of the skin. Another common name is dermatitis. Many variants of this condition exist, including childhood eczema, atopic eczema (allergic), discoid (nummular) eczema, pompholyx eczema (palms and soles), stasis eczema (varicose), and seborrhoeic eczema (including dandruff). They all share common characteristics like redness, edema, itching, dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. Chinese herbal medicine treats all of these very well, both in the acute phase and in ensuring good long term remission.
