IVM at McGill
A dear client did some of her own research on options in Canada once you have surpassed the age of 45. The following is a quote from an email received in response to some basic questions regarding a common form of IVF done at McGill:
"IVM egg donation has proven to be a very good option for those donors who are reluctant to take the medications required for conventional IVF egg donation however pregnancy rates are not as high with IVM as they are with egg donation. It is impossible to give a reliable statistic for IVM egg donation as we do not do enough of this sort of treatment, but in general IVM pregnancy rates are about 10% less that IVF rates. The number of eggs retrieved may or may not be lower with IVM egg donation (depending on how good a candidate the egg donor is) but implantation rates are lower. "
