Did acupuncture or chinese herbs stopped my ovulation?
I began getting acupuncture treatment and taking a blood stasis furmula at the beginning of my last cycle to regulate severe pain caused by endometriosis. I have always ovulated regularly and had regularly cycles, but also must contend with infertility (past 2 years). I am happy to say that this last period was the least painful in a very very long time - the pain must have been by 75% or more. However, it came to early - much earlier than my normal 28/29 day cyle - it came on day 22. My BBT also indicated that I ddid not ovulate. Is this normal when first starting TCM or am I overstimulating Yang (I am Yang deficiant and have too much estrogen). Thanks for your help.

Hi Melodyvine,
I have seen cycles change with treatment. One cycle on its own is not a pattern to me so I do not usually jump to any conclusions or change things. I use to get nervous with my patients when I first started practicing fertility. But my personal; experience tells me that change is good. Your cycles on the past have not been working for you so anything different is welcomed at the beginning stages.
I am unable to commnet on "Is this normal when first starting TCM or am I overstimulating Yang (I am Yang deficiant and have too much estrogen" as I would need much more information on your personal history as well as details about yourherbal formula. If you are being seen by one of the practitioners at Acubalance and you would like me to review your file please contact the clinic and ask reception and they can pass your file to me for review.
I am doing a talk on March 4th with Dr Jerilynn Prior, a local endocronologist. Although the topic is on PCOS I think the information is beneficial to women who may have ovulatory disorders. Plus the info we will be sharing can help women without PCOS still optimize their fertility and better understand their cycles.
