Bruising after acupuncture?
I have been seeing an acupuncturist/ chinese medicine doctor for 4-15 mths weekly and have never had bruising after my acupuncture sessions. However, after my last acupuncture session I noticed some localized bruising. Does this mean the acupunture needle was placed too deeply? Or is this a common adverse effect? Does it speak to the skill of the acupuncturist/chinese medicince doctor?
Thanks,

Bruising is common side effect and not necessarily related to depth or skill
Usually the needles miss or push aside the capillaries. Occasionally
they do not and you get an instant bruise. It is one of the side effects
from acupuncture. It should be
gone in a week
