Blood test to help women plan family - Fertile years predicted
Acubalance is the first Chinese medicine clinic in British Colombia (actually currently the only clinic of any kind in British Columbia) that is ordering the Ovarian Assessment Report (OAR) for our patients to objectively measure changes in ovarian reserve. The OAR includes testing for of five hormones, including the anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), which controls the development of egg-making cells in the ovary.
In today’s Newspaper they reported another test which also looks at levels of the anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH). To quote the Vancouver Newspaper, The Province, “If confirmed by other scientists, the test devised by Iranian doctors would be a boon for women seeking to plan when to start a family, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology said Sunday. ............. "Our findings indicate that AMH is capable of specifying a woman's reproductive status more realistically than chronological age per se," said Ramezani Tehrani.” (Click here to read full article)
