At Acubalance we are always striving to provide the most effective treatment based on traditional practice and the latest research. To help serve our patients better, we are excited to introduce the Acubalance Acupuncture Studio -- a new way to experience acupuncture that will allow you to increase the frequency and effectiveness of your acupuncture treatments in a relaxing, convenient and affordable way.

What is the Acubalance Acupuncture Studio?

The Studio is downstairs from the Acubalance clinic in suite 120. It is an inviting, soothing spa-like space where 3-5 patients receive acupuncture treatments in a group setting.  We have comfortable reclining chairs where you can relax and listen to music or guided meditation and self-hypnosis, or enjoy a power nap (AKA “Needle Nap”) while you are receiving your treatment.

The Studio is exclusively available to Acubalance patients who sign up for a monthly acupuncture pass. You will continue to see your practitioner a maximum twice a week in the clinic for private consultation and treatment and then you may augment your private treatments with unlimited additional treatments in the Acubalance Studio at no extra cost. This provides you with 3-5 spa-like treatments a week for no additional cost above your regular two weekly treatments.

Why is Frequent Acupuncture More Effective?

Clinical evidence shows a short course of frequent acupuncture treatments provides faster results than a prolonged course of therapy with low frequency of acupuncture.  In China, daily acupuncture treatments (high frequency) are the norm rather than the once-a-week treatment model that we are familiar with in the West.  At Acubalance we recommend a minimum of three treatments a week as the magic number for maximum effectiveness, and we can offer this to you in a spa-like setting in the Acubalance Acupuncture Studio.

We realize that time and money are factors, so, in order to facilitate your treatment, we are offering a monthly rate  (like a yoga studio) that allows you to have unlimited group acupuncture treatments in the Acubalance Acupuncture Studio. The treatments only take twenty minutes, so you can be in and out in under half an hour, making it easier to incorporate more frequent treatments in your schedule.

What About My Private Consultation?

You will continue to have your private consult and treatment (maximum twice weekly) with your Acubalance Senior Practitioner. As well, you have the option of enjoying additional acupuncture treatments (to allow you 3-5 treatments in a week) in our Studio with eye-pillows, soothing aroma therapy, infrared heat lamps and iPods available so you can make your treatment your mini relaxation moment.

Please ask us how you can access the Acubalance Acupuncture Studio so you can receive your 3rd to 5th weekly treatments at no additional cost.  Studies show that acupuncture twice a week for five weeks can improve sperm quality.  If you are planning to conceive with a male partner or known donor,  ask us how he may receive a maximum of two Studio treatments per week during your 5-week membership.
