Acne
Acne is probably the most common skin complain to be seen in the clinic. It is characterized by open and closed comedones, which are basically clogged oil glands, which then become infected and inflamed turning into the typical papule and pustule- AKA Zit. The face tends to be the most affected, with the chest and back being second. Many subtypes exist including teenage acne, post adolescent hormonal women's acne, and nodular- cystic acne (also known as acne conglobata). Using both internal and external herbal medicine, as well as dietary adjustments, Chinese herbal medicine treats all the various types of acne quite well.
